Headline : Ukrainians ready for resistance : ‘The whole country will be fighting back’

The threat of invasion of Ukraine by Russians is huge, Ukrainians have started to prepare supplies of food, water and weapons. But their defense is outgunned by the Russians. Putin proclams the independance of two territories in Ukraine it means that he will invade the Ukraine to enlarge his territory. So many countries have started to put sanctions against Russia, like stopping importing gas (which represents 20 % of gas in Europe) and Germans have already found a solution to satisfy the demand (apparently).

February 24th
At 5 am this morning, Putin started the invasion of Ukraine and dropped bombs and rockets on the country’s border. Explosions lit up the sky as some videos on social networks show. Ukrainians took refuge in bomb shelters and in city’s subway as in 1941. This is the biggest war in Europe since 1945. Putin wants to control Ukraine to de-nazify it and because the Ukraine government is mistreating its population, (this is what the Russian President said in his orders to attack Ukraine). He also threatened the other countries that want to help Ukraine :
“To anyone who would consider interfering from the outside: if you do, you will face consequences greater than any you have faced in history. All relevant decisions have been taken. I hope you hear me”
Putin will no stop the invasion and will attack harder if another country helps Ukraine. Joe Biden will sanction Russia’s biggest bank and announce it on Monday.
Headline : Can Germany function without Vladimir Putin’s gas ?

Many countries in Europe depends on Putin’s gas to provide energy for their population. But Putin attacked Ukraine yesterday early morning, the whole world is now proclaiming sanctions against Russia to try to stop the war by a privation of economic disenfranchissement. The problem is that Russia is the main source of gas in Europe, supplying/delivering 70 % of European gas. Germany has announced the suspension of the North Stream 2 pipeline which means that Germany stops importating Russian gas. But can Germany ‘survive’ without gas ?
In 2019 the German government promised to pull on coal-fired power plant but they have not done so, and they don’t have enought renewable energy . For this winter they can supply the population but for next year it will be a challenge. On the top of that, Germany has shut down nuclear power plants, and they can’t reactivate those plants because it’s the green Party in the power and that will be disastrous from population’s point of view.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many people are now sufferingfrom news anxiety. To keep up with the news of pandemic crisis, people were scrolling all day long on social media, listening to the radio or watching the tv all the time. Then with the war in Ukraine, people are now scrolling through media to check the news but also preserve their mental health and anxiety level. Some people have limited their hours on social media and want to do something real to help the victims and ukrainians.

Russia has signed an agreement with Iran that guarantes a full and economic trade with an investment and military cooperation against Western sanctions if the nuclear deal agreement is restored. Moscow keeps Europe under it’s dependency on the gas supply that Europe cannot produce, so it imports gas from Moscow and with the war in Ukraine, oil prices are rising sharply.

On the ISS, three Russian astronauts wear yellow and blue suits to match the Ukrain flag. Despite the war in Ukraine, they show their support to the Ukrainian refugees. There are also American astronauts for a control mission but the relationship with Russians astornauts does not change, they still cooperate during the space mission.
