The wind rises review

Short review

I watched it and you have to watch it please (●ᴗ●) !

The title of the film is The wind Rises a reference to Paul Valéry’s poem : ‘The wind rises, we must try to live’. The film is naive but heartbreaking with short visions of the war, because the main character of this story was an aeronautical engineer Jiro Horikoshi (who really existed). Jiro designed planes for the second war, which were bombers and no plane returned, which were suicid bombers.

The film encompasses many events from 1920 to 1945, with a great earthquake in 1923 that destroyed Tokyo, the tuberculosis epidemic (Nahoko, Jiro’s wife at the end of the film, has been diagnosed with tuberculosis like her mother and knows she will die in the next few months), and then the war.
